• Hello.

    Thanks for checking in!

Read along as I highlight my personal life and the families I am so lucky to meet though Sherry Lane Photography! I am not a "writer" so please do not judge my misspelled words and grammatical errors :)

The Boy. Month One

I am not sure how this has happened – but our little guy Dominic is one month old already!  Just a fair warning now, this post is photo heavy! 🙂  I obviously have not had a chance to even introduce him here yet!  If you follow me on instagram (@sherry_lane) you already know Dominic quite well!!

Dominic made his entrance a memorable one, for sure.  He was born a few weeks early at 38 weeks and 2 days on May 31st.  Also known as the day tornado’s went through our neighborhood!  I went to the hospital after having lots of contractions that morning.   Was happy to be admitted and not sent home.  I progressed a bit slow through the whole day and Dominic was delivered at 8:12pm.  Pretty much the same time severe weather was hitting the area.  Everyone in the hospital was moved to the hallways away from the windows.  They tried to get us to move – but um yeah.  I was delivering!!  We were not able to go home for the first week we brought Dominic home, but once our house was cleared as livable we all got settled in.  HUGE thanks to my parents for letting the five of us literally take over their home for a week!!!  We are so thankful we did not have any major damage.  We will have to deal with some repairs over the next few weeks – but nothing compared to what some streets just a few blocks over had.

I am so incredibly thankful to my friend Anne Menitrup – with Anne Meintrup Photography.  She photographed my birth(and also maternity and newborn <3 ) and I will be forever thankful to her 🙂   To see a few of the sneak peeks click here!

The faces this kid has – well – are hilarious.  I just love every.single.one of them.  haha.

One month stats:

11lbs 11oz  (that is correct!!  He gained FOUR.POUNDS!!)

eating every 2-3 hours during the day

eating every 2-4 hours over night

pee on mom and dad:  lost count!!

Having Dominic home with us is kinda hard to describe.  We were so shocked that we were having a boy after having two girls, we just assumed it was another!  Everyone knows how nervous I was to have a boy.  But I am just smitten with him 🙂  I feel like he has been a part of our family forever.   I am so excited to see what kind of crazy little boy he grows up to be.   I am just soaking up this baby stage every single day.  I know how fast it goes 🙂   I am super thankful for yet another healthy, beautiful baby.   We love you so much already Dominic!!

Nussbaumer Family – A visit from France!

I was super excited when I heard Betsy and her cute little family were coming to the states for a visit!   It was the first visit for Betsy and Ruben in about 5 years!  And sweet little Amy’s first visit ever!!  Betsy and I met in 5th or 6th grade, we couldn’t quite recall!   I remember going to sleepovers for her and her twin sister Becky’s birthday on New Years Eve!  Roller blading back and forth between our streets!  In high-school we kinda did different activities but still talked here and there.   And then in college Betsy went overseas to study in France and that is where she meet Ruben 🙂  And the rest is history!

Here is the adorable Nussbaumer family!  I am so glad we were able to meet and catch up with each other!!  And that I got to meet Ruben and cutie-patootie Amy. {Thanks for letting us borrow your house Gloria! 🙂 }

During their stay at Betsy’s mothers house, Amy became quite fond of loving on their  Cat.  Betsy gave her this cute little Kitty and a souvenir from her first visit to the states.  So cute!!

Amy learned lots of new milestones while they were here for about a month.  She is one of the best clappers in town now!

So adorable 🙂   Ruben and Betsy are so sweet.

Annnnd they are pretty hilarious also.  I seriously love this one.  🙂 hee hee

And of course we finished up with some St. Louis Cardinals gear!  Amy is proud to take this back to France and represent!!

Ruben, Betsy and Amy – Thank you SO MUCH for meeting up and letting me capture your adorable family while you were here visiting in the states!!  I hope you are all settled back in France and getting back to your normal time zone!! :]  I hope we can do this again sometime!!

Chris & Christy – Engagement Paaaaartay!

I was MORE than excited to get this call.  I have known the Garofalo Family…. for a long time! I grew up with Michelle and Christy at dance (5-6-7-8  holla!) waaaaay back when.  They were like sisters to me!  And their awesome parents Lynn and Mike!  Were like another set of parents!    {PS.  I am soooo looking for some old photos to add into this 🙂 🙂 } When I heard my wittle sis Christy was engaged I was so happy for her! And more than excited they asked me to photograph the Engagement party for them!!  The answer was heck yes!!  We have been in and out of contact for the last oh I don’t know…. 8+ years?!  But I am so excited that we have connected again and we just take off like there has not been years between our conversations!  That is how I know we are “family” 🙂

Molly – 6 Months old!

Oh hey Miss Molly! How are you SIX months old already?!  I am sure your mom and dad are saying the same thing!!  Just a warning, this girl has the BLUEST EYES.  Like for real.  No editing on them, so, get ready for some beautiful-ness!

I met Matt and Jenny when they were expecting little Molly, and then for their newborn session.  I enjoyed getting to see them again!

Molly was pretty smiley the whole time!!  When dad took her up closer to the loud waterfall, she had a moment of serious-ness.  But man o man, I love it!!  Those eyes!!

I love this next set of photos.  All I can picture is, THE. CLAAAAW.  LOL (name that movie!)

Such an adorable family!!

Oh this baby.  She is just SO CUTE!

And that claw again!  But I mean, come on!  That face!!

Ok, at this point Miss Molly had had enough with her little session.  Matt was blowing raspberries on her cheek – and I just died laughing watching her reaction.  Every.time. she would scrunch that adorable face up like it was giving her some major chills.  It was the cutest thing ever.

Thanks again Matt and Jenny ( and Molly!) for letting me capture some memories for your family!  I loved seeing how Molly has grown since her newborn session, and cant wait to see her this fall for her FIRST BIRTHDAY!  It will be here before we know it!!

xoxo,

Sherry Lane
